Am I back?!?
I have decided to revive this blog. I know I have said this in the past and I have done a very crappy job of sticking to my word. But I am going to try my hardest to go with it this time. I started this blog while I was in high school, being inspired by people like Zoella, who I adore, and now I am in college. I have learned a lot since the beginning. And I want to share that with people. I enjoy writing, even if I am bad at it. And I enjoy the things I write about. I have also changed quite a bit since the beginning, even since I last blogged. And I also want to share that with people. Because I have gone through a few things and maybe one person could be helped by hearing my stories. And even if no one finds what I have to say useful, that's alright. Because this blog is also for me. It's a way for me to say something. Even if no one is listening.
So prepare for my first blog post from my return on December 31, 2015, also known as New Years Eve.
I AM BACK! and OOTD + Makeup
I have been gone for a while and I apologize. This mostly has to do with the fact that I was busy with school. I just graduated high school, and I currently getting ready for college, which I am very excited about. I plan on doing a lot of back to school/ getting ready for college posts. My first post back is going to be an outfit of the day. I went out to breakfast with my friend, since today is the last day I'll be able to see her since she's leaving for college. We decided to go for a breakfast place by the beach. I opted to wear a floral crop top. It's different from the one pictured. But mine is black, with dainty blue, purple, pink, red white flowers on it. My shorts were light high waisted shorts. They are a little more frayed than the ones pictured because I cut mine from high waisted jeans. For a little covering, because the crop top shows a lot of skin, I put on a black and red flannel and rolled the sleeves to my elbows. I also wore a black choker and a couple of gold bracelets and finished the outfit with black converse.
For makeup, I started by using my CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation, which I blended with a stippling brush. I then set my foundation with the CoverGirl Oil Control Clean Pressed Powder, with a fluffy brush. On my cheeks, I used the "secrets" blush shade from my Nyx Revenge is Infinite Palette. I then used a Maybelline Color Tattoo as an eyeshadow base. In the crease I used "revelations" and on my lid I used "destiny", which are both from the Nyx palette. Then I used "truth" as a brow highlight, which is also from the palette. I topped my eyes off with the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara. I lightly filled in my brows with my BH CosmeticsStudio Pro HD Brow Pencil and set them with the Maybelline Brow Drama clear brow gel. And lastly on my lips, I wore Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Mischievous.
That is it for my outfit and makeup for today. I hope you enjoyed it. I'm also sorry I haven't been posting, but I promise I will be posting more often!
What I'm Going To Do

Summer Lovin': Another Week Gone By
Another week has gone by. To me, it feels wasted. I haven't really done much. I went to the fair yesterday. That's really been the highlight of my week. It was actually pretty fun. I went with my sister and we were going on all the rides. The only downside being there were a lot of spinning rides and she didn't feel that great afterwards. It was also pretty hot out and really sunny. Which ended up with me getting a sunburn because I don't know how to put sunscreen on myself very well.On the plus side, I have managed to spend the last few days watching a bunch of TV shows. I spent a full day watching an entire last season of H2O: Just Add Water. And today I'm finishing catching up on Teen Wolf. I've also watched Star Wars Episode 4 and 5. As you can see, I have an obsession. And it's not healthy. I will spend the rest of the summer sitting in front of my laptop watching every single episode of every show that I have missed. In case you have not noticed, I believe it is pretty obvious that I have no life.
Actually, I have a little bit of a life because I'm going to a bonfire next week. I've never been to one before. A lot of my friends find that kind of surprising since we live pretty close to the beach. I guess I've just never really been invited to one or been allowed to go. But I'm really excited to go to this one. I get to see my friend who I haven't seen in a while, so I hope I have a good time.
And finally I have saved the best for last. Now this is probably one of my favorite things I'm going to tell you today. I got tickets to go see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis! I am so excited. I am in love with the two of them. They are just unbelievable. I'm going with my friend so I know we're going to have a good time. I cannot wait! Unfortunately, the concert is at the end of the year so I'll be doing quite a bit of waiting, but I'm sure it will be worth it.
P.S. I did my first guest post this week. Check it out here.
Summer Workout: How to Customize Your Workout + Update
Source |
To make a workout, first you need to start off with a workout that you seem like you would like. I'll be using this one I found on Pinterest as an example. To start off find what you like about the workout. If it's the length, the type of exercises it has, the target zone, etc. That is what you are going to keep in the workout. For my example, I like that it targets my legs, and I like some of the exercises it has. I don't like how you have to do 100 jumping jacks so I'm going to change it to a number more suitable to me, like 50. I also don't want to do some of the exercises twice, like the wall sits and squats, so I'm going to toe touches and reverse lunges instead. Basically all you have to do is keep what you like and get rid of what you don't.
Now to create your own workout. This requires more effort. First, figure out what your target zone is. I'm going to say mine is full body. Next, find exercise that work those areas. I'm going to pick 5: wall sits, push ups, squats, crunches, and planks. Finally, pick how long or the amount of each exercise you want to do. I'll do 30 second wall sits and planks, 20 squats and crunches, and 10 push ups.
Using both of these tricks, I created my summer workout plan. You can see it here.
This fitness update is going to really quick, mainly because not that much has changed. The only thing I have changed is that I'm doing yoga now. I'm trying to do it every week day. Next week I'll be doing my updated fitness routine so I'll talk more about it then.
If you have any ideas for the next summer workout, please leave a comment below or use the contact form on the side of this blog.
Summer Lovin': The First Official Day of Summer
It's Friday! I've already been out of school for over a week. It doesn't even feel like it's been that long. Summer is just going to fly by, I can tell. The thing about summer is that you wait for it all year, and then you are bored for 3 months once it gets here. I would know I've been feeling that way for 10 years. The thing I hate though is each year I tell myself it will be different but it never is. I always hope that my summers will be like the ones in the movies, that I'll go on some crazy adventure. Unfortunately that never happens. I always spend the summer stuck at home with the occasional family vacation and hanging out with friends. Don't get me wrong, that's always fun. But I'm the kind of girl with big dreams and an even bigger imagination. I want something exciting to happen. I want there to be adventure and fun and good times and laughs, like every song and book and movie tell us about. I don't want to look back and say, "I wish I did something."
I've realized all this will reading an amazing book that I am totally in love with, Paper Towns by John Green. I've realized that I could consider my town a paper town. And my life most likely would be considered a paper life. I don't want that. I hate the idea of living a paper life in a paper town. I don't want that.
In fact the book inspired me to plan a trip. A summer long trip. Of course I may not go. But I'm okay with that. I've learned by reading this book, that the best part is the imaging and the planning. Once you actually do it, you realize it's not as great as you imagined it to be. I've also learned there's a thrill to leaving, and once you leave you don't really want to come back. And I don't know if I want that. In some ways I do, I really do, but I also don't want to be one of those girls who just keeps running, from diner to diner, never really living a life.
Today I went to the fair. I love going to the fair. I actually remembered to bring my camera this time so I have pictures to show you guys. I actually took 100 hundred pictures. Now I'm not going to include them all in this post because we would be here all day but my favorites are throughout this post.
Summer Log of Everything
I'm doing a log of all the things I do this summer. Mostly movies and tv shows and books. But there will also probably be a few places I go and things I do. Tell me all about what you've done so far this summer and your plans for the rest. I'd love to hear about it! Also let me know if you have any recommendations. I love to check them out.

Summer Workout: Update + Eat Healthier!
Eating healthy is just as important as working out. We all know that. But some times it's hard to eat healthy. We all struggle to eat healthier. I know I do. Here are some of my tips for eating healthier:
- Swap the candy for trail mix. We all love to have M & M's and that's fine every once and a while. But what about those everyday cravings? Instead of picking up a pack of M & M's, try some trail mix. A lot of them are made with nuts, fruit, and some of them even come with a little chocolate. Of course, instead of buying a trail mix from the store you can make your own. Take your favorite nuts and dried fruit and mix them together.
- Try whole wheat. It's easy to switch from white bread to wheat. I hardly noticed a difference. But breads not the only thing you can switch. A lot of other foods come in wheat too, like pasta. Switching to wheat is a really simple way to eat healthier.
- Eat fresh. This is one of the hardest things for people to do. It's actually not that hard. Buy a few fruits and vegetables a week. Try to eat one at least every morning for breakfast, especially since most people skip breakfast. Also try to include one fresh fruit or vegetable with every meal. It may sound hard, but it's really not.
- Make your own meals. It seems like all people ever do these days is go out to eat, especially at fast food restaurants. Not only are you spending a ton of money on meals you could make yourself, most of the food is unhealthy and we eat more, like that side of fries that you were picking at. Try to make meals at home instead of always going out or eating frozen dinners. Start by trying to make 3 dinners a week, then work your way up to making more meals at home. This way you can control what you are eating and you know what you are eating.
Summer Lovin': School's Out!
To kick off the summer, I got to go to the fair. Every year I go to the county fair. We didn't go on rides this time, just walked around. They had this little butterfly thing, where you could go inside and pick up the butterflies with "nectar sticks." It was really cool. I took a lot of pictures as you can see.
I also went to my friends house. We didn't do much. We watched a few movies, went swimming. I guess after hanging out with someone so much you run out of things to do. I still enjoyed it.
I've been on a movie craze lately. I've been trying to watch a bunch of movies I've never seen before. So far I've watched Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, and The Silver Lining Playbook. I really want to try to watch a the movies I've really want to see but haven't yet. Hopefully I'll be able to do that before summer is over. I also want to catch up on all the TV shows I'm behind on. I have Glee, The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, and quite a few others I need to watch.
Next to the movies, I've also been trying to read more. Maybe I'll even read a book a week. Today I just finished The Silver Linings Playbook, which is why I'm watching the movie. The review will probably be up tomorrow or Sunday. I have a ton of books I haven't read and I want to finish them before school starts again. If you guys have any book or movie recommendations let me know so I can check them out.
I also just finished shooting a haul video which I will upload next week. And I have been doing a TON of DIYs for #pinterestsunday. I made cookie brownies and a book crate and more, so be sure to look out for those.
Aloha Everyone
I made this by taking mixed media art paper and using watercolor pencils. Watercolor pencils are like colored pencils but once you color your art, you take a wet paintbrush and wash over the pencil. It gives it a watercolor effect.
So if you couldn't tell from the picture, my drawing say "Aloha." I am completely in love with Hawaii and their language and cultures. I haven't been there yet but one day I will. I live in California. I love the beach, the weather, the sun, and pretty much every stereotypical thing about California. Hawaii is perfect for me. And one day I will be there.
So yeah. That's my little rant for today. Hope you enjoyed my picture.
What Should I Do?
This isn't a regular post. This is more of a personal rant. Sorry, if you're not interested, but I feel like I just have to get this off my chest. I'm sorry if this post is really crazy and jumbled up. I'm really just babbling. I'm also sorry if I'm saying the same things over and over.I just got finished watching Radio Rebel. It's a Disney movie. What can I say, I'm a sucker for Disney. But that's not the point. It got me thinking, I could do a lot more. It was such an inspiring movie. It showed me that 1 voice CAN make a difference. All you have to do is be yourself. That's what the whole movie was about, just being yourself. Well, at least that's my interpretation.
Who would have thought one of the shyest girls could end up being one of the most popular radio DJs? Now THAT is inspiring. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm just going crazy. I don't what it is. I guess it's because I saw myself in that shy girl. I'm that quiet girl in class who almost never raises her hand, who doesn't talk to anyone besides her friends, who doesn't stand up for her self. I guess that's kind of why I started this blog, to give me a place to talk.
I have all these ideas and plans and I never make them happen. I want to be like Radio Rebel. I want to start a podcast and a YouTube channel. Maybe I will. This week. Tomorrow even. When I come home, I'm just going to say what I feel. Maybe one day I'll be as big as Radio Rebel. I really want to do this. I guess I'm just afraid. Of what, I don't know. Probably of everyone that's going to judge me. But out of all the haters, there's always fans, right?
I wonder what it would be like. To be one of those popular YouTubers or bloggers or podcasters. That's what I want to do. I feel like I've used maybe too much in this post. And you know what? Screw the maybes. I'm tired of all the maybes and the wanting and the dreaming. From now on it's all yes. Just like Zoella's video. I'm going to do everything I said I'm going to do. In fact I'm going to make a list. Right here. Every time I do something, I'll cross it off. I am going to be a podcaster and a YouTuber and a blogger. Screw what other people say. This is me. And this is what I like to do. If you don't like it than oh well that's your problem. I'm going to take some Disney advice and just be myself.

The Best Websites for Healthy Recipes + Fitness Update
I know a lot of people want to eat better, especially now that summer is coming up. Today, I thought I would share with you my favorite websites for healthy recipes. I'm always willing to try these new recipes, but I'm kind of a picky child. I know a lot of people out there are picky like me, or some people just find it hard to eat healthy, but these recipes are amazing! Here are some great sites for healthy eating, along with my favorite recipes. If you guys have any websites that you like to get recipes from let me know in the comments :)
- http://www.thegraciouspantry.com/: These are clean eating recipes. I know that sounds a little bit scary but the recipes are really good. One of my favorites is: clean eating baked italian ziti. I love pasta (or anything other Italian food) and the fact that this one is healthy, just makes it that much better!
- http://theskinnyconfidential.com/recipes: So many good recipes, so little time! (They're also a fitness blog, so you can check that out as well) I couldn't decide my favorite recipe from them so I picked 2: pumpkin roll skinny style & spicy homemade hot chocolate. Both are especially good in the fall and winter, but still taste just as good now that it's summer.
- http://www.blogilates.com/: This is a great place to get healthy recipes and watch workout videos. The girl who runs it makes great YouTube videos of her workouts. I'm definitely going to have to try them. Anyway, my favorite recipe from her is: cinnamon protein pancake. They are so delicious.
- http://www.skinnytaste.com/: This site is perfect for any of you doing Weight Watchers. They make recipes and post the number of points each recipe is. My favorite recipe is grilled hawaiian teriyaki burger. In the past, I would go to Carl's Jr. to get the exact same burger, but now I can make my own that is so much better for me. (And since today is Memorial Day, here's a special red, white, and blue recipe.)
- http://pumpsandiron.com/category/recipes/ This is great blog about everything, like fitness, fashion, recipes, etc. The recipes are delicious and everything else is amazing. I like the lemon chicken mushroom linguine in a pecan pesto without the mushrooms (as I said earlier, PICKY!)
Keep Your Workout Interesting + Fitness Update
Are you getting bored with your workout routine? Do you find yourself struggling to get yourself to workout? Well listen up, because I have a way to fix that. Here are my tricks to a fun workout that I actually WANT to do.
- Movie workouts! I love movies. I don't know anyone who doesn't. I also find myself doing movie nights all the time. One way to I've learned to workout is to do workouts along with the movie, a.k.a movie workouts. I find most of mine on Pinterest but you can also Google "(movie title) movie workout". One of my favorite blogs that does this is FuckYeahMovieWorkouts.tumblr.com. They also do TV workouts which leads me to my next point.
- Workout while watching TV. FuckYeahMovieWorkouts.tumblr.com has great TV show workouts, but if they don't have a certain TV show what should you do? You can always request them to do one. (same for movies) And you can also do commercial workouts. There's a link to one here. What happens if you don't like these pre-made workouts?
- Create your own workout! There's lists and lists of pre-made workouts floating around the internet. But what if you don't like any of them? What I do is I follow the pattern of the pre-made workouts, like one of the movie ones for example, but I just change the exercises to ones better suited for me. You can also make "games" for your workouts. Write a ton of different exercises on Popsicle or paper and then just pick out 5 (or however many you want to do).
- Workout with friends. I find that if you workout with friends, it makes it more interesting. You guys could be talking the entire time, making the seem less of a chore; or challenging each, which pushes you even harder. If you do decided to workout with a friend, I suggest doing a movie workout, a dance workout, yoga, or any fun workout that you would both enjoy!

Just a little update
Now for the update. I have kinda gotten this blogging thing down and I just want to let you guys know whats coming up and about my "Blogging Schedule"The new things I have planned are more make up tutorials. I know I said I would be doing them and I haven't been. I'm sorry, I'm just swarmed with school and tests, and pretty much everything else. But summer just around the corner, you can expect a lot more. Next up is a completely new thing which no one has probably heard of, "Summer Lovin'." Now you are probably asking "What is Summer Lovin'?" Simple. It's my summer blog/vlog. It's going to be a combo of the two, and I believe it's going to be once a week, so keep an eye out. I'll also be doing a music discovery post where I talk about new music I've found, and it will always feature some music from PureVolume. Finally, something I've already started posting, OOTD/OOTW, or Outfit Of The Day/Outfit Of The Week. Basically, I'm just going to be posting certain outfits I wear and this will probably be a once or twice a week.
Now onto the "Blogging Schedule". Every day I'll be posting outfits made on Polyvore. The first of every month I'll be posting my favorites for the month. And on the last of every month I'll be posting my music discoveries. On Sundays, I'll be doing #PinterestSunday , which is making DIYs and other things I've found on Pinterest. On Mondays, I'll be posting about my fitness routine, either it's an update or what I'm doing as my routine that month. Tuesdays, I'll be posting various beauty topics, like a makeup tutorial or hair tips. Wednesdays, I'll post a quick playlist of songs that I have either been obsessed with, or go with a certain theme. For Thursday, I'll be posting an OOTD/OOTW. Fridays I'll post my "Summer Lovin'" segment during the summer, until then I'll be posting about random things. Finally on Saturdays I'll be posting my new apps of the week.
