Book Nook: Paper Towns by John Green
I am in love with The Fault in Our Stars and it's author, John Green. It is a given fact. So I have decided to read all of his books. This review is for his book, Paper Towns. Now I wouldn't know if I would like it because I had know clue what it was about. I just knew I had to read it because it was a John Green book. And I am here to tell you I didn't like it, I LOVED it. I don't think it's as good as The Fault in Our Stars but it's definitely better than half the books I've read.
Paper Towns is about Q. Q is a boy in love with his next door neighbor, Margo. Margo is sort of like an "it" girl and Q is friends with the band geeks. Margo being the Margo that she is, invites Q on the night of his life. And the next day Margo is missing. Q makes it his mission to find her. You travel with Q as he follows Margo's clues.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love this story and think it's perfect. But the entire time I was reading this I always had a different ending in mind. It was kind of the stereotypical ending for all romance movie and books. But that's probably the reason I like John Green's books so much, because he doesn't write the stereotypical endings. Even through the story didn't end the way I was thinking, and secretly hoping it would, it's still a great ending and I think it was a sort of happy ending. All in all, this book is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone

I've been seeing quite a few pins about books, like here and here. I've also mentioned how, now that it's summer, I want to start reading more. I've decided to create a book list, probably an ongoing one. Every time I finish one of these books, I will bold the book title, as well as write a review, which you can see by clicking the book title once I have published it. Most of the books I have on this list on from those 2 links, but I have added some of my own. As I add to this list, I will also take books off if I no longer want to read them.

#pinterestsunday Book Crate
As many of you might know, I have been reading a ton lately. I'm sure a lot of you out there enjoy reading too. Of course, we don't always have enough room on the bookshelf to store all our books, or we always forget what books we want to read next. The solution came to me through this pin. It is your very own book crate. The idea is actually really simple and I'm surprised I haven't thought of it before. This is a great idea for kids, just leave whatever books they or you want them to read in the crate, and they can just pick them up and start reading. This also doesn't have to be just for books. You can store anything in these crates. I'm thinking of making one for all the college brochures I get, maybe one for some art supplies, the possibilities are endless. What you will need is:
- A crate or box. I used an old shoe box.
- Wrapping paper or paint.
- Scissors.
- Tape or Glue.
- Pages from an old book. (optional)
To start, if you have a shoe box, like me, you want to take of the lid. If the lid is attached to the shoe box, then tear or cut it off. If you are painting your box or crate, now would be the perfect time to do so.
If you are wrapping it in wrapping paper, like I chose to, then measure out the amount of wrapping paper you will need to cover the outside AND the inside. I chose to estimate the amount, but you could also measure out the wrapping paper.
Next you want to lay the wrapping paper flat with the box on top. Cut slits in the paper for each side so the wrapping paper will go neatly in to box. (See image above)

Tape the wrapping paper to the box. If your wrapping paper did not fully cover the inside of your box, tape left over pieces of wrapping paper onto the box, like I did.
This part is optional. If you would like this to be more decorative, cut out some letters in old book pages and tape or glue them to the front or your box. I chose to cut out "BOOKS". That's it! I hope you enjoyed this DIY. If you have any requests for the next #pinterestsunday, leave them in the comments below, or use the contact form on the side of this blog.Summer Log of Everything

Book Nook: The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick

This book is about Pat, a man who is just getting released from a neural health facility. He is struggling to remember events of his past and all he can think about is ending apart time with his wife Nikki. This book takes you on Pat's journey as he tries to get Nikki back and his awkward friendship he develops with a girl named Tiffany. That doesn't really sum up the whole book but those are two of the main parts. The book, although a little weird to me, is very well written.
Summer Lovin': School's Out!
To kick off the summer, I got to go to the fair. Every year I go to the county fair. We didn't go on rides this time, just walked around. They had this little butterfly thing, where you could go inside and pick up the butterflies with "nectar sticks." It was really cool. I took a lot of pictures as you can see.
I also went to my friends house. We didn't do much. We watched a few movies, went swimming. I guess after hanging out with someone so much you run out of things to do. I still enjoyed it.
I've been on a movie craze lately. I've been trying to watch a bunch of movies I've never seen before. So far I've watched Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, and The Silver Lining Playbook. I really want to try to watch a the movies I've really want to see but haven't yet. Hopefully I'll be able to do that before summer is over. I also want to catch up on all the TV shows I'm behind on. I have Glee, The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, and quite a few others I need to watch.
Next to the movies, I've also been trying to read more. Maybe I'll even read a book a week. Today I just finished The Silver Linings Playbook, which is why I'm watching the movie. The review will probably be up tomorrow or Sunday. I have a ton of books I haven't read and I want to finish them before school starts again. If you guys have any book or movie recommendations let me know so I can check them out.
I also just finished shooting a haul video which I will upload next week. And I have been doing a TON of DIYs for #pinterestsunday. I made cookie brownies and a book crate and more, so be sure to look out for those.
Book Nook: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
The Fault in Our Stars. John Green. There are no words to describe this book or it's author. This is my favorite book of all time, hands down. The emotions, the journey, everything is just so amazing. It's so hard to describe, but I'm going to do my best. The book revolves around cancer patient Hazel Grace. She goes to this support group for cancer patients. There she meets Augustus Waters, who is a cancer survivor. I'm not going to give away too much of the story, but as you guys can probably guess, there's a spark between them.
Now we all know that stories revolving around cancer will most likely not be a happy ending. And it wasn't really, but at the same time it was. That's probably pretty confusing, and some of you may not agree, but that's my perspective.
Anyone who has not read this book is missing out. This book is full of heartbreak and love and tears and smiles. This is my favorite book and I'm sure if you read it, it will be your favorite.
Book Nook: Night by Elie Wiesel
I have recently read this book for my English class. It's a very quick book. I think it's less than 100 pages. You could easily read it in a day. Normally I don't enjoy reading books assigned in class, but I liked this one. I also don't normally like nonfiction. It's not exactly a happy book, but it's still interesting and I recommend it.
This book Elie's memoir. Elie is a Holocaust survivor. He's wrote this book about his time during the Holocaust. You are taken on a captivating journey as you go through what Elie went through as a Jew during the holocaust. You travel with him from his hometown to various concentration camps. This book shows you how much pain and loss these people went through. It's not a very happy, uplifting book, but it's definitely a great quick book that everyone must read.
