Summer Lovin': Another Week Gone By

Another week has gone by. To me, it feels wasted. I haven't really done much. I went to the fair yesterday. That's really been the highlight of my week. It was actually pretty fun. I went with my sister and we were going on all the rides. The only downside being there were a lot of spinning rides and she didn't feel that great afterwards. It was also pretty hot out and really sunny. Which ended up with me getting a sunburn because I don't know how to put sunscreen on myself very well.
On the plus side, I have managed to spend the last few days watching a bunch of TV shows. I spent a full day watching an entire last season of H2O: Just Add Water. And today I'm finishing catching up on Teen Wolf. I've also watched Star Wars Episode 4 and 5. As you can see, I have an obsession. And it's not healthy. I will spend the rest of the summer sitting in front of my laptop watching every single episode of every show that I have missed. In case you have not noticed, I believe it is pretty obvious that I have no life.
Actually, I have a little bit of a life because I'm going to a bonfire next week. I've never been to one before. A lot of my friends find that kind of surprising since we live pretty close to the beach. I guess I've just never really been invited to one or been allowed to go. But I'm really excited to go to this one. I get to see my friend who I haven't seen in a while, so I hope I have a good time.
And finally I have saved the best for last. Now this is probably one of my favorite things I'm going to tell you today. I got tickets to go see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis! I am so excited. I am in love with the two of them. They are just unbelievable. I'm going with my friend so I know we're going to have a good time. I cannot wait! Unfortunately, the concert is at the end of the year so I'll be doing quite a bit of waiting, but I'm sure it will be worth it.

P.S. I did my first guest post this week. Check it out here.

Summer Lovin': The First Official Day of Summer

It's Friday! I've already been out of school for over a week. It doesn't even feel like it's been that long. Summer is just going to fly by, I can tell. The thing about summer is that you wait for it all year, and then you are bored for 3 months once it gets here. I would know I've been feeling that way for 10 years.
The thing I hate though is each year I tell myself it will be different but it never is. I always hope that my summers will be like the ones in the movies, that I'll go on some crazy adventure. Unfortunately that never happens. I always spend the summer stuck at home with the occasional family vacation and hanging out with friends. Don't get me wrong, that's always fun. But I'm the kind of girl with big dreams and an even bigger imagination. I want something exciting to happen. I want there to be adventure and fun and good times and laughs, like every song and book and movie tell us about. I don't want to look back and say, "I wish I did something."
I've realized all this will reading an amazing book that I am totally in love with, Paper Towns by John Green. I've realized that I could consider my town a paper town. And my life most likely would be considered a paper life. I don't want that. I hate the idea of living a paper life in a paper town. I don't want that.
In fact the book inspired me to plan a trip. A summer long trip. Of course I may not go. But I'm okay with that. I've learned by reading this book, that the best part is the imaging and the planning. Once you actually do it, you realize it's not as great as you imagined it to be. I've also learned there's a thrill to leaving, and once you leave you don't really want to come back. And I don't know if I want that. In some ways I do, I really do, but I also don't want to be one of those girls who just keeps running, from diner to diner, never really living a life.
Besides reading my new book, I also went shopping this week. I went to Ulta yesterday so I will be a collective haul soon. I don't know when, but I will try to film it as fast as I can. I also went to the movies with one of my best friends. We saw Now You See Me. It was actually pretty good which is what a lot of people told me.
Today I went to the fair. I love going to the fair. I actually remembered to bring my camera this time so I have pictures to show you guys. I actually took 100 hundred pictures. Now I'm not going to include them all in this post because we would be here all day but my favorites are throughout this post.
I tried a deep fried Klondike bar from Chicken Charlie's. It wasn't too bad but I prefer the fried Oreos. My dad got some pickles wrapped in bacon which wasn't too bad, but I hate dill pickles. I have to say after eating that stuff it makes me feel super greasy and gross, but it's so good.
My fair brought in all these old arcade games and I am OBSESSED. They are so addicting. I would much rather play these than all those video games at home or the new ones in arcades. To me I love all the old stuff. It seems like the more you try to improve something, the more you try to make something totally perfect better, the more you ruin it.

Summer Lovin': School's Out!

So this is my first week out of school. I am so happy. No more test, no more homework. Unfortunately, that also means I don't get to see my friends everyday. But I still get to hang out with them, so it's okay.
To kick off the summer, I got to go to the fair. Every year I go to the county fair. We didn't go on rides this time, just walked around. They had this little butterfly thing, where you could go inside and pick up the butterflies with "nectar sticks." It was really cool. I took a lot of pictures as you can see.
I also went to my friends house. We didn't do much. We watched a few movies, went swimming. I guess after hanging out with someone so much you run out of things to do. I still enjoyed it.
I've been on a movie craze lately. I've been trying to watch a bunch of movies I've never seen before. So far I've watched Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, and The Silver Lining Playbook. I really want to try to watch a the movies I've really want to see but haven't yet. Hopefully I'll be able to do that before summer is over. I also want to catch up on all the TV shows I'm behind on. I have Glee, The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, and quite a few others I need to watch.
Next to the movies, I've also been trying to read more. Maybe I'll even read a book a week. Today I just finished The Silver Linings Playbook, which is why I'm watching the movie. The review will probably be up tomorrow or Sunday. I have a ton of books I haven't read and I want to finish them before school starts again. If you guys have any book or movie recommendations let me know so I can check them out.
I also just finished shooting a haul video which I will upload next week. And I have been doing a TON of DIYs for #pinterestsunday. I made cookie brownies and a book crate and more, so be sure to look out for those.
