what is going to become of this blog?

I am so busy in college right now. Honestly, it's so hard for me to keep up with my work and to try and worry about this blog. But I still want to continue to try to update and write on this blog as much as possible, since it is something that I like to do. I'm going to start by revamping the look of the blog and giving it a makeover. Then I'm going to start working on the content of this blog to try to make it the best it can be. I hope if anyone still sees this, they understand and are patient with me.

Am I back?!?

I have decided to revive this blog. I know I have said this in the past and I have done a very crappy job of sticking to my word. But I am going to try my hardest to go with it this time. I started this blog while I was in high school, being inspired by people like Zoella, who I adore, and now I am in college. I have learned a lot since the beginning. And I want to share that with people. I enjoy writing, even if I am bad at it. And I enjoy the things I write about. I have also changed quite a bit since the beginning, even since I last blogged. And I also want to share that with people. Because I have gone through a few things and maybe one person could be helped by hearing my stories. And even if no one finds what I have to say useful, that's alright. Because this blog is also for me. It's a way for me to say something. Even if no one is listening.

So prepare for my first blog post from my return on December 31, 2015, also known as New Years Eve.

I AM BACK! and OOTD + Makeup

I have been gone for a while and I apologize. This mostly has to do with the fact that I was busy with school. I just graduated high school, and I currently getting ready for college, which I am very excited about. I plan on doing a lot of back to school/ getting ready for college posts.

My first post back is going to be an outfit of the day. I went out to breakfast with my friend, since today is the last day I'll be able to see her since she's leaving for college. We decided to go for a breakfast place by the beach. I opted to wear a floral crop top. It's different from the one pictured. But mine is black, with dainty blue, purple, pink, red white flowers on it. My shorts were light high waisted shorts. They are a little more frayed than the ones pictured because I cut mine from high waisted jeans. For a little covering, because the crop top shows a lot of skin, I put on a black and red flannel and rolled the sleeves to my elbows. I also wore a black choker and a couple of gold bracelets and finished the outfit with black converse.

OOTD: Breakfast by the Beach

For makeup, I started by using my CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation, which I blended with a stippling brush. I then set my foundation with the CoverGirl Oil Control Clean Pressed Powder, with a fluffy brush. On my cheeks, I used the "secrets" blush shade from my Nyx Revenge is Infinite Palette. I then used a Maybelline Color Tattoo as an eyeshadow base. In the crease I used "revelations" and on my lid I used "destiny", which are both from the Nyx palette. Then I used "truth" as a brow highlight, which is also from the palette. I topped my eyes off with the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara. I lightly filled in my brows with my BH CosmeticsStudio Pro HD Brow Pencil and set them with the Maybelline Brow Drama clear brow gel. And lastly on my lips, I wore Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Mischievous.

Makeup for Today: 8/7/15

That is it for my outfit and makeup for today. I hope you enjoyed it. I'm also sorry I haven't been posting, but I promise I will be posting more often!

What I'm Going To Do

Source
As many of you know I'm going on vacation this week. I'll be gone for exactly two weeks. During that time I don't think I'll be able to blog or have time to blog. Either way I'm trying to queue up some posts while I'm gone. It's really hard getting this many posts ready before I leave. I'm pretty much spending every second trying to write a new post. I am going to be on the road a lot so, hopefully, I'll be able to write a few posts then.
I am going to be posting pictures and videos while I'm on my trip. Once I get back I'll make a collective video of all of the videos and pictures. It will be be up on YouTube and I will post it on this blog. Make sure to follow me on Instagram and YouTube so you can see my videos and pictures as I post them.

Summer Lovin': Another Week Gone By

Another week has gone by. To me, it feels wasted. I haven't really done much. I went to the fair yesterday. That's really been the highlight of my week. It was actually pretty fun. I went with my sister and we were going on all the rides. The only downside being there were a lot of spinning rides and she didn't feel that great afterwards. It was also pretty hot out and really sunny. Which ended up with me getting a sunburn because I don't know how to put sunscreen on myself very well.
On the plus side, I have managed to spend the last few days watching a bunch of TV shows. I spent a full day watching an entire last season of H2O: Just Add Water. And today I'm finishing catching up on Teen Wolf. I've also watched Star Wars Episode 4 and 5. As you can see, I have an obsession. And it's not healthy. I will spend the rest of the summer sitting in front of my laptop watching every single episode of every show that I have missed. In case you have not noticed, I believe it is pretty obvious that I have no life.
Actually, I have a little bit of a life because I'm going to a bonfire next week. I've never been to one before. A lot of my friends find that kind of surprising since we live pretty close to the beach. I guess I've just never really been invited to one or been allowed to go. But I'm really excited to go to this one. I get to see my friend who I haven't seen in a while, so I hope I have a good time.
And finally I have saved the best for last. Now this is probably one of my favorite things I'm going to tell you today. I got tickets to go see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis! I am so excited. I am in love with the two of them. They are just unbelievable. I'm going with my friend so I know we're going to have a good time. I cannot wait! Unfortunately, the concert is at the end of the year so I'll be doing quite a bit of waiting, but I'm sure it will be worth it.

P.S. I did my first guest post this week. Check it out here.

Summer Workout: How to Customize Your Workout + Update

Source
There are a million workout routines out there. We all know that. But not all of them are suited to our body types or lifestyles. Today I will be showing you how to take a brilliant workout routine and make it your own. Can't find a workout routine you like? Well I'll help you create your own. These tips and tricks are what works for me and what I do, hopefully they help you too.
To make a workout, first you need to start off with a workout that you seem like you would like. I'll be using this one I found on Pinterest as an example. To start off find what you like about the workout. If it's the length, the type of exercises it has, the target zone, etc. That is what you are going to keep in the workout. For my example, I like that it targets my legs, and I like some of the exercises it has. I don't like how you have to do 100 jumping jacks so I'm going to change it to a number more suitable to me, like 50. I also don't want to do some of the exercises twice, like the wall sits and squats, so I'm going to toe touches and reverse lunges instead. Basically all you have to do is keep what you like and get rid of what you don't.
Now to create your own workout. This requires more effort. First, figure out what your target zone is. I'm going to say mine is full body. Next, find exercise that work those areas. I'm going to pick 5: wall sits, push ups, squats, crunches, and planks. Finally, pick how long or the amount of each exercise you want to do. I'll do 30 second wall sits and planks, 20 squats and crunches, and 10 push ups.
Using both of these tricks, I created my summer workout plan. You can see it here.
This fitness update is going to really quick, mainly because not that much has changed. The only thing I have changed is that I'm doing yoga now. I'm trying to do it every week day. Next week I'll be doing my updated fitness routine so I'll talk more about it then.
If you have any ideas for the next summer workout, please leave a comment below or use the contact form on the side of this blog.

Summer Lovin': The First Official Day of Summer

It's Friday! I've already been out of school for over a week. It doesn't even feel like it's been that long. Summer is just going to fly by, I can tell. The thing about summer is that you wait for it all year, and then you are bored for 3 months once it gets here. I would know I've been feeling that way for 10 years.
The thing I hate though is each year I tell myself it will be different but it never is. I always hope that my summers will be like the ones in the movies, that I'll go on some crazy adventure. Unfortunately that never happens. I always spend the summer stuck at home with the occasional family vacation and hanging out with friends. Don't get me wrong, that's always fun. But I'm the kind of girl with big dreams and an even bigger imagination. I want something exciting to happen. I want there to be adventure and fun and good times and laughs, like every song and book and movie tell us about. I don't want to look back and say, "I wish I did something."
I've realized all this will reading an amazing book that I am totally in love with, Paper Towns by John Green. I've realized that I could consider my town a paper town. And my life most likely would be considered a paper life. I don't want that. I hate the idea of living a paper life in a paper town. I don't want that.
In fact the book inspired me to plan a trip. A summer long trip. Of course I may not go. But I'm okay with that. I've learned by reading this book, that the best part is the imaging and the planning. Once you actually do it, you realize it's not as great as you imagined it to be. I've also learned there's a thrill to leaving, and once you leave you don't really want to come back. And I don't know if I want that. In some ways I do, I really do, but I also don't want to be one of those girls who just keeps running, from diner to diner, never really living a life.
Besides reading my new book, I also went shopping this week. I went to Ulta yesterday so I will be a collective haul soon. I don't know when, but I will try to film it as fast as I can. I also went to the movies with one of my best friends. We saw Now You See Me. It was actually pretty good which is what a lot of people told me.
Today I went to the fair. I love going to the fair. I actually remembered to bring my camera this time so I have pictures to show you guys. I actually took 100 hundred pictures. Now I'm not going to include them all in this post because we would be here all day but my favorites are throughout this post.
I tried a deep fried Klondike bar from Chicken Charlie's. It wasn't too bad but I prefer the fried Oreos. My dad got some pickles wrapped in bacon which wasn't too bad, but I hate dill pickles. I have to say after eating that stuff it makes me feel super greasy and gross, but it's so good.
My fair brought in all these old arcade games and I am OBSESSED. They are so addicting. I would much rather play these than all those video games at home or the new ones in arcades. To me I love all the old stuff. It seems like the more you try to improve something, the more you try to make something totally perfect better, the more you ruin it.

Summer Workout: Update + Eat Healthier!

Eating healthy is just as important as working out. We all know that. But some times it's hard to eat healthy. We all struggle to eat healthier. I know I do. Here are some of my tips for eating healthier:

  1. Swap the candy for trail mix. We all love to have M & M's and that's fine every once and a while. But what about those everyday cravings? Instead of picking up a pack of M & M's, try some trail mix. A lot of them are made with nuts, fruit, and some of them even come with a little chocolate. Of course, instead of buying a trail mix from the store you can make your own. Take your favorite nuts and dried fruit and mix them together.
  2. Try whole wheat. It's easy to switch from white bread to wheat. I hardly noticed a difference. But breads not the only thing you can switch. A lot of other foods come in wheat too, like pasta. Switching to wheat is a really simple way to eat healthier.
  3. Eat fresh. This is one of the hardest things for people to do. It's actually not that hard. Buy a few fruits and vegetables a week. Try to eat one at least every morning for breakfast, especially since most people skip breakfast. Also try to include one fresh fruit or vegetable with every meal. It may sound hard, but it's really not.
  4. Make your own meals. It seems like all people ever do these days is go out to eat, especially at fast food restaurants. Not only are you spending a ton of money on meals you could make yourself, most of the food is unhealthy and we eat more, like that side of fries that you were picking at. Try to make meals at home instead of always going out or eating frozen dinners. Start by trying to make 3 dinners a week, then work your way up to  making more meals at home. This way you can control what you are eating and you know what you are eating.
For my fitness update: So far I've been trying to keep to my scheduled workout routine, but with all the plans I make at the last minute, it's been hard to keep up. For the most part, I've stuck to my workout. And if I have missed a day, I try to make it up as soon as I can. I have begun to eat healthier using these tips. They really do make a difference.

Summer Lovin': School's Out!

So this is my first week out of school. I am so happy. No more test, no more homework. Unfortunately, that also means I don't get to see my friends everyday. But I still get to hang out with them, so it's okay.
To kick off the summer, I got to go to the fair. Every year I go to the county fair. We didn't go on rides this time, just walked around. They had this little butterfly thing, where you could go inside and pick up the butterflies with "nectar sticks." It was really cool. I took a lot of pictures as you can see.
I also went to my friends house. We didn't do much. We watched a few movies, went swimming. I guess after hanging out with someone so much you run out of things to do. I still enjoyed it.
I've been on a movie craze lately. I've been trying to watch a bunch of movies I've never seen before. So far I've watched Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, and The Silver Lining Playbook. I really want to try to watch a the movies I've really want to see but haven't yet. Hopefully I'll be able to do that before summer is over. I also want to catch up on all the TV shows I'm behind on. I have Glee, The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, and quite a few others I need to watch.
Next to the movies, I've also been trying to read more. Maybe I'll even read a book a week. Today I just finished The Silver Linings Playbook, which is why I'm watching the movie. The review will probably be up tomorrow or Sunday. I have a ton of books I haven't read and I want to finish them before school starts again. If you guys have any book or movie recommendations let me know so I can check them out.
I also just finished shooting a haul video which I will upload next week. And I have been doing a TON of DIYs for #pinterestsunday. I made cookie brownies and a book crate and more, so be sure to look out for those.

Aloha Everyone

Today I'm not going to be doing a very big post. Just a little personal post kind of thing. So to start off I'm going to show you guys my new artwork, which this post is kind of centered around. It's just a really quick drawing thing for the wall in my room. I have a corner of my room just dedicated to my art and my posters so I thought I would make this to add to it. It's not very good but I still like it.
I made this by taking mixed media art paper and using watercolor pencils. Watercolor pencils are like colored pencils but once you color your art, you take a wet paintbrush and wash over the pencil. It gives it a watercolor effect.
So if you couldn't tell from the picture, my drawing say "Aloha." I am completely in love with Hawaii and their language and cultures. I haven't been there yet but one day I will. I live in California. I love the beach, the weather, the sun,  and pretty much every stereotypical thing about California. Hawaii is perfect for me. And one day I will be there.
So yeah. That's my little rant for today. Hope you enjoyed my picture.
